TV-test-patterned
As much as I love colourful clothing this Adicolor jacket is just too … TV-test-patterned!lol
The clash of cultures or caricatures?
Just wanted to recommend you one of the funnier television series I’ve seen lately. I haven’t watched the movie “Outsourced” but I suspect this series being loosely based on it. What makes this show so charming is its humble attitude and the fact that each and every actor genuinely contributes to the fun (especially Rizwan Manji). A good cast chemistry in other words and bite-size episodes make “Outsourced” a short weekly trip to a pretend India made out of funny stereotypes. It should also be mentioned that the very same stereotypes have steered up a lot of emotions and protests here and there! Some of my Indian friends are very critical while the majority can relate to it and find it hilarious. I’m sure it would have a similar (or reverse?) outcome if it was a show about Iranians in Iran.
I personally make a difference between Hollywood’s ignorant orientalism and tongue-in-cheek exaggerations. I see no harm in a show that creates caricatures out of basically everyone, Indians as well as Americans, in a manner that is clear in its purpose. What I see harm in however, are shows that try to confirm prejudices in order to come across as serious and credible. “24″ is a perfect example! So either way, “outsourced” is worth a watch.
Daisy shaped eggs
Why not surprise your partner (or special guest ) with breakfast in bed, touched up with a simple but oh so cute twist!
Gonna pimp it up (and down)
That’s it, I’m gonna pimp it up (and down) tomorrow and appear at work in nothing but a pair of sweatpants and a touch of fur! Grrrrrrrr!lol
Under the Burden (of a Nation)
Every once in a while I receive e-mails from people who happen to via google stumble upon a painting of mine, painted and posted our years ago. The painting is called “Under the burden (of a nation)” and is my homage to late Dr. Mossadegh. It’s acrylics painted on canvas, however the ambition was to achieve the chalk-on-tinted paper sketch effect. Much like a vintage photo, a fading moment caught in the memory of history. It took exactly 10 years in the making, from the day the idea was born and till it got processed and painted. Thus this piece belongs to my private collection and I do not intend to sell it, but I’m flattered and thank you for your interest.
Jooze box
Cool prototype of boxes designed by Yunyeen Yong for “Jooze”, an alternative to the Swedish Tetra Pak packaging (which I’m sure all Iranians, at least my gen, recall from their childhood).
Relapsing fever symptom
Oh, I’m so loving this! Damn, and here I thought I had fully recovered from my black board fever!
Tapping the air-synthesizer keys

Two of the world’s iconic fashion bloggers and renowned street photographers, namely American Scott “the Sartorialist” Schuman and French Garance Doré, are also one of the fashion industry’s cutest couples! It’s always a pleasure when seeing two equal spirits find their way to each other. Perhaps not to every eye, nevertheless in mine, this is a perfect match!
She makes me wanna be a bad boy!
I am your regular law abiding citizen, but I’m sure that if I had lived in San Pedro Garza Garcia I would have done something naughty just to have this policewoman from the special forces after me! She could have busted me and dragged me to whatever dungeon she wanted, and I would have happily bid you all farewell not to come looking for me! Ever!lool
The multitasker
Multitasking is more than just skill, it’s an art, which I intend to perfect! This is yet another picture that never leaves my inspiration board.
The tape hub
Fashion designer Marc Jacobs crossed over to the world of gizmos earlier this year and designed a few mixtape-looking triple-port USB hubs. This is another contribution to the many mixtape tributes this year!
A green pea
As the search for a new peacoat continues, I’m reconsidering the quality and colour of the coat. I think I’m ready to go green!
Legends in between
If you are a fan of the urban music scene then make sure to check out the newly released album “Wake Up”, which is a collaboration between two of the genre’s biggest acts, namely John Legend and the legendary The Roots!
My first Chanel
My latest blue obsession! Initially a bit “bitier” than what I’m used to, but once it settles its as subtle as a sea breeze. Funny part is the cap which turns automatically into right position no matter how you put it on, in order to display the Chanel logo correctly!
Paisley messenger bag
As you know I love the termeh/paisley pattern and I want this Etro bag so bad!
In some kind of disguise …
… arrived model Natalia Vodianova to French Vogue’s 90th anniversary masquerade ball held in Paris!
Tintin comes to life
As a lifelong fan I couldn’t be more thrilled about the news. It’s been years in the making and there has been a lot of speculation about whether it will ever see the light of day or not, but finally comes the first visual proof of the new Tintin movie! A joint venture between Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, to hit the cinemas in 3D October 2011.
As you can see these are two of Hollywood’s herculean names tagged to this project, so needless to say the expectations are sky high! This wont be the first cinematic adaptation of the Belgian boy wonder and his friends’ adventures. but it will be the first that tries to fuse the style of the graphic novels with photo-realism through CGI.
Starring Andy Serkis (Gollum and King Kong) who is basically the leading actor when it comes to motion capture performance, as captain Haddock. It’s still unclear whether there are more movies planned, since there were once rumours about a trilogy with different styles of execution to each instalment. But given the fact that it happens to be my favourite adventure of Tintin, namely “The Secret of the Unicorn” that is being adapted we can almost take for granted that there will at least be a follow up based on the second part of the story, namely “Red Rackham’s Treasure”.

Once a new romantic …
… always a new romantic, says my friend Mia! Well in that case this is my 2010 take on the new romantic style. Toggle navy hoodie from TOPMAN and fringed scarf from ZARA. And the sartorial twist lies in the stylish asymmetry created by the sideway draping of the scarf and the strict exposure of only one side of the collar.
Sibel comes to unite
Sweet Sibel is of a Turkish descent, Macedonian born and Sweden based. Another little lady with a big voice! I’m a reader of her blog and happen to love her latest fare, which is a collaboration with the Swedish DJ/producer Alex Sayz. The video for “United As One” has just been released and will probably find its way to the European club scenes and charts really soon!
The ultimate test
If this is some kind of test then even I would pass it! Instead I would like her to come and stand in front of him like that, now that would be something to call a test!loool
Birdie num num
British designer Thomas Stanley is the man behind this unnecessarily luxurious bird-feeder called “The Apple”! By the way, seeing it reminded me of the classic scene from Peter Seller’s timeless “The Party”! One of my all-time favourite comedies.
Romantic realism perfectly depicted
The readers of the blog, forum and even reviews know that I have always called myself a “romantic realist”. It’s my philosophy, which basically means that I stand with my both feet on the ground while my head is up in the clouds! I daydream, but never lose touch with reality. I live and love as an immortal, while I am fully aware that I’m nothing but a mortal! I can go on and on, write a brick book about it but still not be able to fully explain the dichotomy. But this image says it all! It is the first image that I’ve seen truly depicting what I try to describe as romantic realism.
Kanye’s cover art too much for Wal-Mart
Its no news that Kanye West feeds off controversy. His brand new album called “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” is getting a massive publicity already a month before its release, due only to it’s cover being deemed too explicit by American retailers! The schizophrenic American culture which often chooses to overlook all other actual nudity chooses once again to mount its pulpit of moral-paranoia against art. The low-brow kind, even. An unrealistically painted nipple on a phoenix/sphinx calls for a ban and of course does Kanye West love to hate this! Oh boy how he loves it, especially since the banned artwork is also related to, and thereby hypes, his brand new musical “Runaway” in collaboration with Hype Williams.
Drawable glass balcony
A window transforming into a balcony, strikes me instantly as a clever concept. But on second thought the drawer is outwards, which doesn’t really motivate its function!? You are not exactly saving interior space, are you, unless it has something to do with the exterior regulations of the building! Either way I don’t think that I would have dared to sit and sip a cup of tea on a drawable glass balcony!lol
Fashion with two dimensions
Nice leather jacket. I wonder if it also comes in a version that fits us with a third dimension!lol This is exactly why I love Nicholas K.
Persian for your pocket
Some flamboyant pocket squares with prints taken straight from Persian miniature paintings!
